North Way Leadership
The North Way leaders have various professional and educational backgrounds and have earned degrees including Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorates from distinguished universities across the country. Many have long time ministry experience at North Way and at other churches in areas including adult, youth, children, worship and volunteer ministries. Several have professional backgrounds in finance, human resources, education and executive leadership. The one common thread is a passion for God and His people and a clear call to ministry.
Scott Stevens - Lead Pastor
As the Lead Pastor, Scott is the directional leader, oversees campus pastors and ministry leaders, is a teaching pastor and serves on the Executive Leadership Team. He served as Family Pastor for six years and has worked closely with Dr. Passavant as Executive Pastor for the past three years. He served many years in ministry before coming to North Way in 2002. Scott is a native Pittsburgher with a love for all things “Pittsburgh.” He lives in the North Hills with his wife Tina, and their two daughters, Alyssa and Erin. “Go Bucs!”
Dr. Jay Passavant - Founding Pastor
Dr. Jay Passavant and his wife, Carol, founded North Way Christian Community in 1981 along with eight other couples. In his role as Founding Pastor, Pastor Jay is part of our Teaching Team and provides leadership to several areas of ministry, including L.A.M.P, North Way Counseling Services, Trinity Seminary, Global Missions, Wexford Starlite Car Cruise and others. Pastor Jay and Carol live in the North Hills and have three grown children Amy, David, and Jonathan.
Kent Chevalier - Wexford Pastor
Kent provides leadership and pastoral care to the Wexford Campus. He is also a member of our Teaching Team and our Executive Leadership Team. He joined the North Way staff in 2007. Kent and his wife Erica live in the North Hills with their three daughters, Madalyn, Kalea, and Ainsley
Doug Melder- Oakland Pastor
Doug provides leadership and pastoral care to the Oakland Campus. He is also a member of our Teaching Team and the Executive Leadership Team. Doug has been part of the North Way staff since 2001. He and his wife Amy have three sons, Koen, Tavin, and Penn, and live in Friendship.
Scott McCabe - Sewickley Valley Pastor
Scott McCabe provides leadership and pastoral care to the Sewickley Valley Campus and is a member of the Executive Leadership Team. He has served in numerous areas of pastoral leadership since his ordination at North Way in 1985. Scott and his wife Missy live in Sewickley and have five grown children, Justin, Ashley, Kelly, Pete, and Hunter.
Dr. Bryan McCabe- East End Pastor and LAMP
Bryan provides leadership and pastoral care to the East End campus and LAMP (Learning and Mentoring Partnership) a mentoring initiative in the Homewood neighborhood of Pittsburgh. He is also a member of the Executive Leadership Team. Bryan grew up at North Way and joined our staff in 2006. Bryan and his wife, Julie, live in Homewood and have two daughters, Kyra and Sierra.
Rob Burkey - Worship Pastor
Rob leads worship in Wexford as well as providing oversight to worship and production at all North Way campuses. He also serves on the Executive Leadership Team. He joined the North Way staff in 2008. Rob, his wife, Kerry, and their daughter, Faith live in Sewickley.
Darren Bowers - Community Care Pastor
Darren serves in a dual role at North Way. He cares for the Wexford community in times of crisis and celebration. He also oversees our ministries for children and students across all North Way campuses. He joined the North Way staff in 2004. Darren and his wife, Lorie live in the North Hills and have two children, Josh and Taylor.
John Syes - Care and Support Pastor
John develops support groups at each campus as well as providing care and individual counseling to our community. He also provides oversight to the North Way Counseling Services. John has been a member of North Way since 1981 and on staff since 1989. John and his wife Carlene live in the North Hills and have two grown sons, Kevin and Ryan.
Randy Blincow - Executive Pastor
As the Executive Director / Pastor, Randy oversees strategic development, financial accountability and staff supervision. Randy served on the Finance Committee and on Elder’s Council for many years at North Way before joining the staff in 2012. He is also a member of the Executive Leadership Team. Randy and his wife Deanna live in the North Hills and have four children Jeremy, Janae, Justin, and Jessica.
Chris Fitting - Executive Director of Property Management
Chris oversees the operational functions at all campuses and serves on the Executive Leadership Team. He has been part of the North Way staff since 2006. Chris and his wife Karen live in the North Hills and have two children, Erik and Alexa.
Sandy Weiss - Executive Director of Administrative Services
Sandy leads teams responsible for Human Resources, Communications, IT and Administration and serves on the Executive Leadership Team. She joined the North Way staff in 2003. Sandy and her husband Bob live in the South Hills and have two daughters, Amanda and Emily.
