North Way Family,
Merry Christmas! One thing I love about this time of year is the Christmas music that really focuses our hearts and minds, especially if we pay close attention to the words. Check out these lyrics from O Holy Night:
O holy night, the stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of our dear Savior’s birth
Long lay the world, in sin and error pining
‘Til He appeared and the soul felt its worth
I love that picture. Our souls experience true worth through the arrival of Jesus. Worth is often defined by how much someone is willing to give. In that case, our worth is significant because God gave us Jesus, His son.
This year in particular, I am praying that we all experience the true worth that can only come from our savior Jesus. This year’s Christmas may look different from every other Christmas in our lifetime. But, despite the differences, God is unchanging and good and sovereign – and his view of our worth is firmly established. May we never lose sight of that.
Two quick things:
Advent Devotionals – Check out northway.org/Christmas to dig deep into a 4-part series to help us understand and celebrate Advent. Advent is so much more than simply candles, gifts or chocolate. It’s a way of looking forward to Jesus’ return. Each Sunday at 7pm, the next part premiers.
We Can Do It – We’ve just recently been talking about year-end giving and our We Can Do It campaign, but in case you missed it, check it out at northway.org/wecan. We Can Do It is about improving each of our campuses to better reach and minister to more people. I believe that there is a spiritual revival that will follow this season of turmoil, and this effort is about preparing for this harvest. Would you pray about participating in this year-end giving effort?
The Lord is at hand,
