On Sunday we visited New Life Church, where our mission foundation hosts and students attend regularly. That church takes turns speaking in both English & Thai. We enjoyed both the music and the message. We were surprised by how contemporary the place was. (pic 1-2) One teammate even said, this looks like a North Way campus!
After church we went to the Big C shopping mall and food court for lunch where we had to figure out how to budget with our allocated Baht (currency) on a voucher card.
Then back to the homestay to rehearse as a team for our skit and lessons for school this week. The S2S students were gracious enough to let us spend 2hrs previewing to them each of our 4 classes: Finance/Budget, English Conversation, General Commands (like Simon Says), and Creation story time.
For dinner we went out to Di Angello’s, an Italian pizza shop (I think our Dave D’Angelo would have loved it!) The wonderful owner even homemade a custom carrot cake (pic 3) for our team, knowing we were planning to be there for dinner. They were so kind!
Tomorrow (Monday) is our first day of English Camp with the local school students. We have been told it will be a very long day (12+ hrs). Some of us are still dragging a bit with jet lag, so prayers are appreciated as we try to bring our best to the kids!
