Today was momentous! The staff of S2S has been planning this building dedication celebration since they broke ground months ago. Many people were invited, from local ministry connections, global partners, neighbors & friends, pastors, and even government officials who were part of the process of making this homestay a reality.
The program began with prayer & worship and a ribbon cutting at the lower level. (Pic 1) Then everyone was invited to the top level meeting space (patio) for more worship, prayer, a message from John Hoogerbrugge, musical performances by the S2S students and the women’s fellowship of Immanuel church (pic 2), and a closing blessing by Bill Antolec. (Pic 3)
Every moment of it was beautiful and spirit filled. The homestay was consecrated to the Lord for use for His purposes and plans. (Also, yesterday our team anointed every doorframe and room with oil and prayer of dedication to God.)
The dedication ceremony concluded with lunch and tours of the facility. There were about 90-100 people in attendance!
Baw & Asanee (staff at S2S) and the students worked very hard on their plans and preparation toward this event!
What an honor to be the first mission team to get to stay at the new facility and be part of dedicating it to be used for hundreds more volunteers to come, for many many years.
This evening our team went out to dinner at a rib restaurant. Half of us enjoyed ribs and the other half went for the burger & fries. It felt like comfort food from home!
Today was our last full day here. We leave tomorrow at 9am to visit the University then head for the airport to depart for the long flights home.
Thank you for your prayers all along, and specifically for healing from sickness while we were here. The sickness stopped at the 5th teammate and no more! Everyone is doing much better.
