Our team of 17 takes off today to serve in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. We will be traveling today and once we pass through customs (prayers please!), we will meet our translators and begin our cultural observation time in the capital city! We will be learning more about Honduras and Latin American culture, along with what God is already doing there! We are praying for curiosity for cross-cultural service as we encounter a different culture in the airport, upon arrival, on the bus ride from the airport to the city, and tonight with our host families. We will spend the evening getting to know our amazing host families. We are thankful for these families who will be housing and feeding our team for much of the trip. We pray that we will be good guests in their homes and appreciate their gracious hospitality. Over these next 8 days, we strive to serve, love, learn, and grow in our faith! Please pray that we learn more about our cultural bias and have open hearts to embrace the Latin American culture and people. As part of our preparation, we have been identifying fears about other cultures to God and examining them in light of God’s love for all people. Please pray that we will work through cultural bias by seeing things as differences and not right and wrong. Thank you for covering our team for safety and health along the journey. And we’re off!
