Our First English Camp

We started our morning at the high school with about 120 students in 8th-12th grade.

Our team performed a skit we had prepared in advance, portraying how Jesus releases the strongholds that keep us shackled in sin, and replaces those with freedom that can only be found in Him.

Throughout the day we offered four classes in rotations. (Pic 2) The students were very thankful for our time & teaching and seemed to have fun with us while learning!

Once the school day ended, we immediately traveled to an after-school English tutoring site nearby, where we were incredibly blessed to spend a couple hours reading & writing English with 4-10yr olds. (Pic 1) They are so sweet and they impressed us with how proficient they already are in English.

We are realizing firsthand how impactful these camps are. School officials shared with us today that Thai kids who can speak English will be offered more opportunities for advancement in school and careers. It can really give them an advantage in life. And without foreigners or mission outreach programs being available to spend time speaking in everyday conversation, the student would have limited exposure to the English language. The English department director was so thankful for our time that she took us out for an incredible traditional Thai dinner. (Pic 3)

We returned to the homestay about 13hrs after our day began, and had a team debrief about what we experienced today. We are praying that seeds were planted today in many lives. And those will take root and grow into a desire to know, experience, and follow Jesus.

As with every mission trip or serving opportunity, we are being blessed as we are blessing others.

The trip is going very well, but we have continued to experience spiritual warfare in physical ways. We ask you to continue praying for the health and strength of our team as we press on through this week.
