About Thailand

Full of rolling hills, mountains, plains, and a long coastline, the country of Thailand boasts stunning scenery and the title of the “Land of Smiles.” Thailand earned this title because here, a smile is much more than just a smile. There are at least 13 different types of smiles a Thai person may express, and each one has its own specific meaning.

The most prominent religion in Thailand is Buddhism. In Thailand, to be born Thai means to be born Buddhist. However, the identifier of “Buddhist” is more of a cultural standard than anything else. Similar to how “Christian” is a common title those in the Western world might identify with, the average Thai person might claim they are a Buddhist even though they don’t follow or observe any of the rituals. With recent economic stress in the past years, many Thai people have fallen away from the Buddhist traditions. From a mission’s perspective, now is a critical time to go and share the Gospel in Thailand as many people are searching for a deeper meaning to their life besides capital gain.

Today (Saturday) was our last day in Thailand. 🙁 We spent the morning at the University debriefing the trip as a team. Everything went SO well! Even arriving a day late, we managed to do all the things on the agenda (and more). We made some real lasting connections here. Some of us are already […]

The program began with prayer […]

Today we drove to some mountain villages where we visited with families in need. We brought rice, eggs, chicken, pork, cooking oil, and other supplies. The first couple we visited was Ami & Ari who are struggling with severe medical issues which leave them unable to work. They were gracious enough to allow us to […]

Today we taught at the Foreign languages camp at Huaisak Wittayakhom school. There were about 165 students in both English & Chinese camp. (Pic 1) Of those, 103 attended our English camp, which ran the same way as our previous classes (Daily Conversation, Finance/Budget, Creation Storytelling, Basic commands). This school is more remote so the […]

Sightseeing Day!

Today was some scheduled downtime between our two busy school days, so we went sightseeing! Our first stop was Tham Luang Cave. In 2018, 13 boys from a soccer team went to explore the cave, but a downpour began and didn’t stop, and filled the cave with water and the boys were trapped for ten […]

Our First English Camp

We started our morning at the high school with about 120 students in 8th-12th grade. Our team performed a skit we had prepared in advance, portraying how Jesus releases the strongholds that keep us shackled in sin, and replaces those with freedom that can only be found in Him. Throughout the day we offered four […]
