Revealed
The Old Testament often gets a bad rap.
For some of us, it’s because we remember the stories as folklore or myths from our childhood. Others of us view the God of the Old Testament as harsh and exacting; we’d rather stick to the New Testament where God seems to get a bit more pleasant. And perhaps many of us have tried digging in, but it’s intimidating and we’re not quite sure where to start.
Whatever our reasons, we can be tempted to skip over the Old Testament entirely. However, what if there is a bigger, more beautiful, more incredible story that we’re missing? What if we took the time to examine the entire narrative of Scripture and found an unfolding story of God’s redemption through Christ. What if to truly understand Jesus, we must go back to the very beginning?
From the first whisper of temptation in Genesis, our gracious God has been pointing us to a Rescuer. Eve, Noah, Moses, Rahab, David, and us…we’re all a part of one story that tells of our inherent need for a Savior and the goodness that is found in Jesus. As we study Scripture and see how God was with us and for us in the past, God’s presence with us today will be more clearly REVEALED.
